Today was a great day. We went to the Warner Brothers Studio London where they have all things Harry Potter. I, personally, am not a Harry Potter fan, but it was still very cool. It was interesting seeing the actual sets that they used in the movie. I don’t know much about Harry Potter, but I do know that a lot of work went into making this movie series. Seeing all the different movie advertisements in the beginning of the tour was interesting because they had them in all different languages. It’s crazy to think that Harry Potter has fans all across the globe. The books have been translated into 68 different languages and has sold over 400 million copies worldwide. It’s even been translated into Latin! I learned about how J.K. Rowling wrote the original ideas for Harry Potter on a napkin while her train from Manchester to London was delayed. She probably never would have thought her ideas would be turned into one of the best selling series of all time. The power of books and movies have is incredible. People from all walks of life, from all over the world are able to share this unique bond through the Harry Potter series and I think that is really cool. The fact that J.K. Rowling created this whole fictional world and it has turned into a $25 billion is mind blowing. I haven’t seen all the movies or read the books, but this trip to Warner Brothers inspired me to watch the movies when I get home!
